There are tons of spots to camp at Government Wash. We were down closer to the water. The scenery is beautiful, but it gets incredibly windy there. We stayed the full 15 days in the middle of March 2018 and only had a few days with little to no wind, but it was worth it! There are several areas nearby with potable water and a dump station. We went to Las Vegas Bay for water and dump and it was about a 20-minute drive one way. We travel with two small dogs and we definitely kept a good eye on them. The coyotes will walk right by the RV (day and night) and howl quite a bit a night. We didn’t have any problems at all, but you have to be diligent. A ranger told us they weren’t so much coyotes but in-bred coyote/dogs so they are not afraid of humans at all. He also said people feed them with bowls of dog food. Seriously people?!? Really sad. We never saw homeless and never felt unsafe. Fisherman would park near our campsite, but they were never a problem either. We were able to level fairly easily. My only complaint is the wind, it was brutal at times. The internet connection there was awesome (AT&T). In fact, it was the best internet connection we have had to date (even better than RV parks in major cities). Can’t beat great internet, free and beautiful!!
