Five years ago I tried to capture some aerial footage of these amazing Intaglios located in southern California. At the time I was trying to velcro my action camera to the bottom of my cheap drone and it was a failure (crashed the drone and destroyed my camera). Fast forward to a few days ago and we managed to get some good footage using my new DJI Mini 3!
Blythe Intaglios
So what are Intaglios?
The Blythe Intaglios or Blythe Geoglyphs are a group of gigantic figures incised on the ground near Blythe, California, in the Colorado Desert. The ground drawings or geoglyphs were created by humans for an, as yet, unknown reason.

So they don’t really know. They haven’t been able to truly get an idea of when they were created either. Current guesses are from 900 BCE to 1200 CE. If the animals depict a horse, then those dates would be much more recent (natives didn’t have horses until the Spanish arrived).
Regardless of their meaning or use, they are pretty amazing to see, specially from the air!
